Federal and local law enforcement authorities have announced the successful dismantling of the Zohannon criminal organization following a sweeping joint operation dubbed “Operation Sweet Silence.”
The operation targeted gang networks with ties to two Mexican drug cartels operating in the region. Prosecutors announced 31 defendants named across nine separate indictments, with 30 of those defendants either pleading guilty or being convicted at trial.
Seizures from the operation totaled more than $20 million in narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, and methamphetamine.
