“Operation Sweet Silence” Gang Bust Dismantles Zohannon Criminal Organization

Federal and local law enforcement authorities have announced the successful dismantling of the Zohannon criminal organization following a sweeping joint operation dubbed “Operation Sweet Silence.”

The operation targeted gang networks with ties to two Mexican drug cartels operating in the region. Prosecutors announced 31 defendants named across nine separate indictments, with 30 of those defendants either pleading guilty or being convicted at trial.

Seizures from the operation totaled more than $20 million in narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, and methamphetamine.

Authorities described the Zohannon organization as a sophisticated criminal enterprise with deep cartel connections. The multi-agency effort involved coordination between federal prosecutors, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and local law enforcement.

The operation represents one of the largest drug trafficking takedowns in the region in recent memory. Officials say the dismantling of the Zohannon network will have a significant impact on the local drug supply and related violent crime.

This story will be updated as additional details are released by authorities.
